55: North By Northwest

I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this. I didn't think I was a Hitchcock fan and was disappointed with "Vertigo" but "North By Northwest" was great. Loved the plane scene.

19: Chinatown

Seeing young Jack Nicholson always weirds me out.

Definitely entertaining. Definitely good. Definitely need to watch it again.

It also makes me want to go back to Catalina.

15: 2001: A Space Odyssey

......................................................................

Um......

Well. The special effects were obviously AMAZING. I can't believe it was done in 68. That's just unbelievable. Oscar well earned.

...................

Well. I don't know if I've seen a weirder movie. The HAL 9000 part was great and so creepy but I have no idea what to think about the rest of it. I did really enjoy the movie, but it was so insane. My friend pointed out that I would never have the patience to be an astronaut. I get that the space scenes were moving in real time.. and yeah. No patience. :)

60: Duck Soup

Weird! I actually liked this a lot! I had just said that I don't really like older movies and I definitely expected to like Vertigo WAY more than anything by the Marx Brothers. I thought their humor was hilarious and I never imagined that I would enjoy them. So funny. The mirror scene is amazing!

9: Vertigo

Number nine? Really? Well... I'm also not a big Citizen Kane fan. The second half of Vertigo was entertaining. I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of older movies. Including Hitchcock. Oh well. I am glad I saw it though. Definitely not horrible.

hi, me!

So this is pretty much for me. If someone happens to come across it, so be it. I'm going to finally watch all of AFI's top 100 films. I've been considering this for a long time now and this will give me a good place to keep track of where I am. If I get through this on Blogger, I might move onto more AFI lists, TIME lists, or that 10,000 movies list. We'll see.

I'm looking at the tenth anniversary list.
What I've seen recently enough and will not watch again for this.
What I've seen a long time ago or didn't pay enough attention to.

I think I'll update this list as I go on. I don't think I'll make another one and update that. That seems a little ridiculous. As of last night I've seen Bladerunner and I'm most of the way through Vertigo. I'm going to try to finish Vertigo today and do my first entry on that.

I should also say now that I probably will not be analyzing anything. This is just for me to keep track of. If I feel like writing a lot about the film, I will. We'll just see what this turns into.
